TRUST FALL — a cyberpunk trust-calibration game.
The defense issue: Challenge 2 — Team AI: Trust & Tactics. In high-stakes operations, warfighters increasingly rely on AI teammates — but when an AI fails, failure and attack look identical. You never get a "your AI was hacked" popup. Learning when to trust an AI teammate, and when to override it, is an unsolved, life-or-death problem in human-autonomy teaming.
Why it matters: We all use AI every day and rarely stop to ask "should I trust this?" That habit is dangerous in high-stakes work. Trust Fall turns that skipped question into gameplay. You play Y, a merc with an AI partner named Lili wired into your head. Every call, she gives you a confidence level, a basis, and a signal — and you decide: trust her, or override. Somewhere in the night she stops being reliable, and the game never tells you if she was hacked or just failing. You calibrate trust from evidence alone — then get scored on the official Human-Autonomy Interaction framework and given your Trust Personality.
Why it's exciting: The trust problem isn't the theme — it's the core mechanic. And you never get ground truth, exactly like the real battlefield.
